Amazing ad. Haha!


This is the latest in VW’s ad’ campaign and makes a departure away from the dog themed ad’s.

I personally believe that this is a very good ad’, interestingly despite that fact it does almost nothing for need recognition.

Despite the long running opinion that the purchase of a new car is a long and involved decision making process I would argue that there is much evidence against this. A study of Australian car buyers found that over a third had only made two or less trips to look at cars before purchasing (Solomon, 2009). Another study found that if one neighbour bought a new car then the probability that one of their 10 closes neighbours bought a car in the next 10 days increased 86%. (NY Times, 2005) New cars therefore, are probably not a well grounded logical purchase as often thought but instead an emotional one.
